Applying for a Job
Students will learn that resumes must do their work quickly. Employers or personnel officers may look through hundreds of applications and may spend only a few seconds reviewing a resume. Students will learn the purpose and some important aspects of a resume, cover letter, and job application. They will review how a traditional resume and electronic resume should look. Students will also learn some common mistakes made when writing a resume, cover letter and filling out an application. Students will create their own resume and cover letter to be kept in their portfolio.
