Hall of Honor
Al Ellis
Founder of the Ellis Bank Group, Al Ellis was a man who parlayed the few dollars he had in his pocket when he came to Florida from Alabama, into one of the largest and most successful banking groups in the Southeast. Together with his beloved wife, Helen, they gave their hearts and treasure to their community through years of volunteer service and today, the Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital stands as a lasting tribute to their lives together.
His love of real estate is legendary. He could look at a piece of property and imagine its limitless potential…a talent that was passed down to his daughter, Carol, who today carries on her parents’ tradition of giving. The fruits of his life’s work will be felt for generations of aspiring culinary artists as they attend the Jacobson Culinary Academy at Tarpon Springs High School, made possible by a generous contribution from the EllMar Foundation.
